Keith  Ellsworth Charleston Police Department Friday, October 06, 1944

Lieutenant Ellsworth was shot and killed at 0415 hours when he and other officers interrupted a burglary in progress at an auto shop on Meeting Street. As the officers approached the suspect opened fire, striking him in the chest. Keith  Ellsworth's photograph is currently unavailable. Keith  Ellsworth's name has been engraved at the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, DC. His name can be located on panel 4, E -11.
