South Carolina's Fallen Heroes

On average, one law enforcement officer is killed somewhere in America nearly every other day. The first known line-of-duty death occurred in 1791, when New York's Albany County Constable Darius Quimby was shot and killed. Since then, over 16,000 officers have died while performing their duties.

Historically, the deadliest day for South Carolina law enforcement officers has been May 19 with 5 deaths.
